After months of planning, building, and refining—and a few unexpected detours—I’m thrilled to finally announce the launch of the Fanfiction Reading Log 2.0, along with its brand-new website! This moment has been a long time coming, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.

The journey so far...

This project started back in February 2024 as a simple idea: to create a tool by readers, for readers, that would make managing and enjoying fanfiction easier and more organized. While version 1.0 was... alright, it was missing a lot of features and at least I noticed within a few months that I got bored of using it. I started to plan for the biggest update ever with the thought that I might not succeed but I want to try...

What began as a personal venture has grown into something much larger. Along the way, there were moments of exhilaration—like solving a tricky technical issue—and moments of challenge—like dealing with burnout. It’s been a journey of perseverance, learning, and, ultimately, creation.

Now, with version 2.0, this log isn’t just a tool—it’s the foundation of something much bigger. The accompanying website will serve as a central hub for everything you need: documentation, tutorials, updates, and more. Think of it as the home base for this ever-growing project.

What’s new in version 2.0

Huurre's Fanfiction Reading Log 2.0 isn’t just an update—it’s a transformation. Here are some of the highlights (and I will be giving more information in the following days, along with the full changelog!):

  • Sleeker Design: Improved layout and navigation to make the log more intuitive and visually appealing.

  • Enhanced Features: New tools for tracking, filtering, and organizing your fanfiction reads.

The new website complements this release perfectly. It’s designed to be a one-stop shop for all things related to the log: whether you’re troubleshooting or simply browsing for tips.

A community effort

At its heart, this project has always been about readers. That’s why I see this as more than just a personal endeavour; it’s a community project. Your feedback has been invaluable in shaping this tool, and your support has been a constant source of motivation.

I’d love to build a space where we can connect, collaborate, and celebrate our shared love for fanfiction. That’s why I’m launching a Discord server alongside this release. It will be a place where we can:

  • Share tips and tricks for using the log.

  • Discuss ideas for future updates.

Looking ahead

This launch is just the beginning. Over the next few years, I have some ambitious plans for this project. From additional features to a completely new platform, there’s so much more I hope to accomplish. But for now, I’m simply glad to be here, sharing this milestone with all of you.

Thank you

To everyone who has supported this project—whether through feedback, encouragement, or simply by using the log—thank you. This wouldn’t have been possible without you. I hope you’ll continue to be part of this journey as we write the next chapter together.
