Huurre's Fanfiction Reading Log
Huurre's Fanfiction Reading Log Version 2.0 is now published!
Effortless fanfiction tracking
To all the fanfiction readers out there
Do you ever find yourself searching for something new to read, only to come up empty-handed? Struggle to navigate through a chaotic sea of "marked for later" stories on Archive of Our Own without an easy way to filter them? Or perhaps you've been lost in a story, only to realize with a sinking feeling that you've already read it a few months ago?
Hi, I’m Huurre, and I’ve faced these challenges countless times. Toward the end of 2023, I decided it was time for a solution. I wanted a fanfiction reading tracker that was visually appealing and as effortless to use as possible—but I couldn’t find one. So, I decided to create my own.
When I began, I only knew the basics of Google Sheets. Everything you see today, I’ve taught myself along the way. The first version of the Fanfiction Reading Log launched in March 2024. While it worked well enough, I knew it could be even better.
In June 2024, I started experimenting with Google Apps Script—my first foray into coding. What I discovered solved nearly all the limitations I had faced. This sparked the relentless development of version 2.0 and ultimately inspired the creation of this website: a central hub where you’ll find everything you need for the log, from instructions and download links to updates and new features.
Huurre's Fanfiction Reading Log was created for readers like you—those who love diving into stories and want an easier way to manage their reading experience. With detailed statistics, smart automations, and an intuitive, visually pleasing interface, this tool was designed to make your reading seamless and organized.
Welcome to Huurre's Fanfiction Reading Log!
About me
I’m a 27-year-old guy from Finland with a passion for fanfiction, writing, and my work in customer service. One thing I can promise is that if you ever email me for help, I’ll respond quickly—unless I’m sleeping or caught up in something I can’t step away from.
Harry Potter is my ultimate favorite fandom, and when it comes to fanfiction, my motto is “the longer, the better.” For me, 50,000 words fic is just a quick snack, while 400,000 words fic is finally something substantial—something that can keep me entertained for a few days before I’m back on the hunt for my next read.
I’m also a writer working on multiple longfic projects. Writing is one of my greatest joys, and like reading, I gravitate toward long stories that dive deep into characters and worlds.
As a creative person with AuDHD, I have an endless drive to stay busy, and it’s usually with something creative. I’m the kind of person who grabs paper and tape to start crafting if there’s even a short pause in a meeting. Creativity is at the heart of everything I do, and I’m excited to share that energy with this community.
